Empowered by Light's mission is to improve lives by empowering people with renewable energy technologies.

Our first project, Solar: ZAMBIA, helps schools operating off the grid in rural Zambia that regularly pay for expensive and polluting fuel sources such as kerosene lighting and diesel. Our project seeks to displace these costs by providing clean renewable energy sources that increasingly pay for themselves and empower local people and organizations. A key aspect involves measuring the environmental, financial, educational and health impacts of our work.
